We can’t say we’re surprised that you’ve decided Morocco’s the destination for you. Bustling Marrakech is stuffed with impressive sights. From neck-craning minarets, to souvenir-heavy souks, there’s plenty to experience in the lovingly nicknamed Red City.  Meanwhile, in Agadir, the beach really takes the biscuit. It’s a five mile sweep of soft sand, dotted with R&R friendly sunbeds, with plenty of watersports huts for fidgets, too.

So, you’re sold on souks, in the mood for minarets and tempted by traditional mint tea. Now you’ve got to choose your hotel. There’s a crop of highly rated hotels in Morocco, so we know it’s a tough call. Have a read of our handy guide – we’ve picked out a few of our faves…

    The central one in Marrakech

If you’re the type of traveller who likes to be in the thick of it, we’ve got just the hotel for you. The Kenzi Menara Palace is slap-bang in the middle of Marrakech, just outside the city’s ancient medina. Bustling Jemaa el-Fna square’s just a 10-minute drive away and, what’s more, the hotel puts on a handy shuttle bus to whizz you into town. We’re talking snake charmers, spice-stacked souks and West End-worthy street performers all at your fingertips. The hotel itself sticks to Marrakech’s Red City theme, too, with terracotta-red buildings, and decadent ruby-red bedding. Plus, there’s a huge outdoor pool lined with comfy cushioned loungers. It’s the perfect spot for city slickers to kick back and relax after a long day’s sightseeing.

    The beachy one in Agadir

Sand-and-sea seekers look no further. Hotel Riu Tikida Beach is the place for you. Stays at this hotel come complete with Insta-worthy views of the Atlantic, and a golden-sand spool of beach that’s just for guests. You can bring the beachy theme to dinner, too. One of the hotel’s four restaurants features glass walls, and looks out over the sand. What’s more, the net-fresh seafood which it dishes up goes perfectly with the views. You’re just a five-minute drive from Agadir, too, which boasts its own famous five-mile sandy strip, backed by a bustling promenade.

     The budget-friendly one in Marrakech

Want to save your cash for souk souvenirs and tasty tagines? Book yourself a room at the Riu Tikida Garden hotel. Stays at this hotel start at just £230 per person for a three night break – what a steal. And, budget in Marrakech means swanky, not manky. This place has four stars to its name, and it’s got the décor to match. When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by a mosaic-lined, high-ceilinged lobby complete with a fountain centrepiece. Fancy. Plus, within the zen-friendly gardens, you’ll find a lagoon-like pool ideal for soaking up the sun. The hotel’s not a million miles away from Marrakech, either. Far from it, in fact. It’s a 10-minute drive into the city’s Old Town, and, thanks to the hotel’s courtesy shuttle bus, you won’t have to cough up for a taxi.

    The luxury one in Agadir

The clue’s in the name when it comes to the Riu Palace Tikida Agadir – this one’s fit for royalty. The swimming pool at this five-star joint’s a bit of a masterpiece, for starters. It features fancy jets, and you’ll find classy four-poster daybeds placed around the water’s edges, ideal for a spot of high-class sunbathing. Or, you can swap poolside for seaside on the hotel’s exclusive sweep of sand. At dinnertime, not one, but two à la cartes are ready and waiting to dish up fancy food for you to enjoy.
